| Bio: | I know you. You live in a small,dark studio apartment in a bad part of town. You don't have much furniture and your refrigerator is basically empty except for a few condiments, some beer and cheese. Old cheese probably. You couldn't tell me the color of your carpet and your windows are never open. You spent your whole life trying to get here. And really here isn't anywhere. You work, you sleep. Occasionally, on the weekends you go out. You might even bring someone home. But in the morning, it's just you and last night's coffee. Again. Somewhere, inside your head, you know there should be so much more than this. So much more to this. But you hide those thoughts behind haircuts, and deadlines, and late night sandwiches. I know you. You have friends. Not anyone close. It's not their fault of course. They'd probably be interested in learning the ins and outs of your life, your history, what makes you infinitely happy and what makes you cry. If any of that was actually interesting. Except you know you're not. You're not interesting. You're not even average. Because everybody is having so much more fun than you. Everybody dresses nicer. Everyone shops at better stores and eats at better restaurants and exercises 3 times a week. Everybody goes more places, everybody travels more often and meets interesting people. More interesting than you. Everybody is always in love or about to be in love. Everybody is getting married and planning children and buying houses and cars. Everybody smiles. And the smile reaches their eyes and you can see it. See that even the core of their being is happy. Happier than you. Nicer than you, better looking than you, thinner than you, more loved than you. I know you. You're not sad. You're just not.quite.happy. So this is what I say. Tonight, before we go to sleep, we're going to open all the windows and sleep in the breeze. We're going to wake up to the sunshine on our faces. We're going to make silly faces at ourselves in the mirror till we laugh. We're going to smile and feel it. We're going to tell ourselves that we're interesting. We're going to miss that deadline. We're going to do something we always wished we could do. And we're going to have fun. We're going to be fun. And people are going to look at us. And they're going to want to be us. Happy like us. Attractive like us. We'll transform. Transform into the clean, bright, happy people that we should be. And someday, if I ever meet you. If I see you on the street. You'll be shining. And I won't know you. | ||||
